Finance new construction of a home?

Hello, I own a "solar" in Puerto Plata...near Coca Cola (MaraPica)...It is all paid off and I have a clear DR title for the land. I would like to begin to build a new house so that I can have a tax deduction in the US....When I built my home in the US, I got a tax deduction right away on the loan interest. Any thoughts about how this all works if the 2nd home is in the DR?

borrow the money you need for the construction against your home in the US you would be in the same position for tax deduction as any other property held in the U.S.
