Today is the feast of St. Francis, Oct. 4. Franciscans have been present since the earliest days of the DR. One of the historical sites in the capitol is of the ruins of a Franciscan community. May the Lord richly bless all of the people in the DR, and all the people associated with the DR, on this special day. Felicidades to all the Franciscans in the DR, and to those who minister there, especially to the poor, whether poor in material goods, or poor in attitude, or any other way lacking.
