Your best bet for a detailed answer to questions about such matters is the Dominican Onelist, an email group that carries on discussions and spreads information within its extensive list of Dominican scholars, students and so forth. Note that most tobacco firms in the DR are private, and the only one that belongs to the government is the "Tabacalera."
