I will be coming down there for five months from the end of August until January. What's the best place for an American Breakfast in Sto Dgo? Whenever I"m there my friends never know what I'm talking about when I have cravings for pancakes and American breakfast...

Is there something like a Coney Island? That has breakfast and random other stuff whenever and open late even after going to the clubs?

That's would appreciate it!

I know. When I go to the DR I'm in paradise with the food. I don't want to see any pancakes or cornflakes.

American food

I'm with Morenita.
Don't even think of trying to feed me a Dominican breakfast, and everytime I'm in Santo Domingo at breakfast time, I'm searching for the same thing.
Up until now, the only places I found, were in large hotels that cater to tourists and the prices are exhorbitant.
I love this country, I love the way of live, I love the climate and many other things, but please don't try to feed me anything cooked in a ton of Crisol oil.
Yuca tastes like fried glue and platanos make you dumber everytime you eat them, thus the nickname, "VitaBruto".
I don't want to munch on chicken's feet, nor do I want to eat deep fried fat (chicharon).
Give me 2 eggs, sunny side up, facing da sky, wid a pair of toast and 2 slices of bacon, side by each. Thank you very large...

Bagels N More off of Tiradentes. You can get fresh bagles with cream cheese, lox, etc. You will make a left past Naco Hotel and Casino. I do not know the name of the street though. I am sure someone can help you find it.

I don't know who you hang out with but not all Dominicans eat food cooked in a ton of crisol oil like you say. You probably ate some bad Yuca. Platanos do not make you dumber. Your post makes you dumber.

Talk to the educated dominicans about platanos.
They all know about VitaBruto.
If fish is good for the brain, why couldn't platanos be bad for it?
Maybe they gum up the blood circulation.
Who knows, but, despite lack of any scientific proof, I believe it.
How do you think I got this dumb in the first place?

Hahahaha. You make me laugh. Now you want to say that the educated Dominicans don't eat platanos. You probaby think that platanos is food for poor people only and are so self conscious about yourself that you would not eat it due to that fact.

Naw, I'm being serious.
Where do you think I heard the term "VitaBruto"?
I used to have a fruit & veggie business here in Sosua.
It was the Dominicans themselves who told me about it.
I didn't eat them, simply because I don't like them.
But now that I know what they do to you, I have 2 reasons to avoid them.
I really can't afford to further lower my IQ.
PS: Saw your last post too late, but we can continue by PM, if you prefer.

Bagels N More is on Fantino Falco, not sure of the address. Its between Tiradentes and Lope de Vega on the north side of the road about half a block before Lope de Vega.

They do have a "breakfast" bagel with egg and bacon or ham. Pretty good if you need that "back home" taste.

The only US fast food chain restaurants that has breakfast is BK and all they have is a weird Dominican style breakfast sandwich with hash browns. McDs doesnt open for breakfast here, as far as I know, but I could be wrong.

Ive been here for 7 years and the closest ive come to an American style breakfast is at an all inclusive resort and even then the taste just wasnt right.

The "Dumbing Down" of Poor Dominicans!

Those "Plantains" really do make you stupid!! Not the Plantain as a whole, just those tiny black seeds in the middle.Blocks blood flow to the brain!Takes about 18 years to complete it's "work"!
Did you ever see a Dominican baby, infant,or toddler? They are bright eyed and curious about everything in their environment.By the time they enter highschool they are a group of "mouth breathers",who only get animated when the "Reggaeton" is blasting from 10 mega-speakers!They then go on to "Universidad" which is a complete waste of time and money! Their brain has solidified into a lifeless stone that can neither receive,or process information. At this stage a dominican can only eat, sleep, get drunk, dance, play dominos, and have sex!
Sounds like they have a "PLAN" to me!!!!!
Same goes for all the other "Tropical Countries" in the World where the "Plantain" is consumed in large quantities on a daily basis!!
