I didn't know we were supposed to post answers. I thought the OP would be posting the correct answers in a few days.

When referring to 'the game' as in a match between two teams 'el partido' is used.

Yes, the pronunciation is as you phonetically described.

Okay I know sports terminology is not easy especially if you don't know anything about the sport but Anna, Dragonfly and Rellosk you all did well.

Anna- what you filled in was correct.

Dragonfly- your answers are correct too but did you choose the answers from the bottom? I am sure you would have had a perfect score otherwise.

Mariel

My first instinct was just to use the English word 'un fly ball' but I researched the term in several references and all have 'un fly' as fly ball.

Thanks.

I also thought comercio sounded a bit strange, but the person I was speaking with understood me. When I asked if it was the correct terminology, they were unsure.

rellosk,

I like how it said by the journalists of Hoy Digital and Diario Libre- Manny Ram?rez pasa a los Dodgers

'Fue comerciado' sounds like a product.

Manny Ram?*rez pasa a los Dodgers - Hoy Digital

Manny Ram?rez pasa a los Dodgers - DiarioLibre.com

-also there is some good baseball terminology in the articles.

Toletero-

One word that stands out in baseball terminology by DR commentators is the word toletero. It's clear that it derived from tolete however, toletero is not an official word registered in the RAE although it's used in baseball in the DR and possibly Cuba and PR to mean bateador. Un toletero = un bateador but also it implies someone who can really hit the ball. Tolete, the word it derived from has several meanings. The colloquial one should definitely be used with caution as you may not mean what you think you mean.

Los Medias Rojas finalmente cortaron lazos con su descontento toletero, transfiri?ndolo hoy jueves a los Dodgers de Los Angeles como parte de un canje de tres equipos que lleva a Jason Bay a Boston, confirm? a The Associated Press una fuente al tanto de las negociaciones. Pittsburgh se desprendi? de Bay y recibi? cuatro prospectos, a?adi? la fuente que pidi? no ser identificada debido a que no se ha hecho un anuncio oficial.

I am curious if anyone has heard toletero used by Cubans or Puerto Ricans because I know it's foreign to other Spanish-speaking countries when referring to baseball vocabulary.
