After living in the United States for a number of years with a residencia my husband decided to return to the Dominican Republic in 1999. Unfortunately his residencia expired in 2002. What does he need to do now in order to go back to the United States? Should he apply for a visa? Renew his residencia in the US embassy in Sto. Dgo.? Any answers will be greatly appreciated. FYI I am a US citizen, we are married and have 2 children. Would it be better for me to try and get him a Visa?
Thank you.

If it expired you might have to start from square one. Have a look at this website and contact your immigration dept at home.
