I am been shopping around for flights to the DR from Bangkok. Suprisingly, I have been able to get airfare from Bangkok to NY to DR for 908 USd including taxes. I think that is a great price. The airlines I used were Thai Air and Delta.
Another note to make is Bangkok to NY is 899 USD.
