HI! Green Team and everyone.

Just want to reccomend two good books.
I just finished reading Diane Wilson"s "An Unreasonable Woman". Great true story of what one determined person can do for the Environment. You can learn more about her by checking PBS NOW (with David Brancaccio -Formerly with Bill Moyers).

I started reading Jared Diamond "Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed". You can start with chapter 11: One Island, Two People, Two Histories: The D. R. and Haiti ". Check it out. THE WHOLE BOOK HAVE GREAT INFORMATION. Great subject for discussions and learn from each other, even when we disagree.

Josia, thanks for the recommendations.

By any chance have you read the very short but effective book "A Cafecito Story" by Julia Alvarez (of "Time of the Butterflies" fame)? The book's afterword, written by her husband about how they are trying to effect chance among the poor small coffee farmers in the DR's mountains, is printed with their permission in this entry of the Green Team blog.

We've contemplated discussing in the blog other books that pertain to the DR or can help sustainable development there, and plan to do so. So any recommendations you or other posters would like to make in that regard, by all means do!
