Have been reading threads here and have to say this is a friendly board!
I'm staying in Cabarete 2/22 to 3/2, and understand that both Carnival and Dia de Indep. will be happening during that time (Sun/Mon?)
Years ago ('82 and '83 to be exact) I spent parts of the winters in Sosua, and experienced the Carnival parade in Puerto Plata. Never been to the one in La Vega, but the one in POP was wild enough!
My question is: is there going to be one big parade/festival day in POP this year, and if so, which day will it be? Or will it just run for two straight days?!
Thanks - looking forward to revisiting some old stomping grounds - although I understand they've changed quite a bit!
