Possibly, but not to the Orange network.relaxed said:What about a phone that does not use sims cards, can it be connected too?
Does the fact that the phone is a working phone in the US mean that it's unlocked, or do I need to do something special to unlock it for use in the DR?ElvisNYC said:Make sure you unlock your T-Mobile phone before you get to DR.

daydream said:Usually phones are locked to a given network by the network provider......so if you are on TMobile in the US and want to use it on Orange in the DR then chances are that it will need to be unlocked.
You can get phones unlocked in the DR for around 200/300 pesos....if you find it doesn't work once you are there

It's my understanding that once it's unlocked, it's a simple matter of switching the SIM card when in the US or the DR without notifying T-Mobile each time you change countries. Is that correct?ElvisNYC said:Like the other poster said, the phone T-mobile gave you are not unlocked and can only be used within the T-Mobile network. Once you unlock the phone, you can use another carrier's SIM card and get their network.

This is free at Verizon Dominicana, just buy a card.
