Called them

The unit is ~$4900.00 USD. It runs on under 900 watts of power. Its based on freezing water and using that as a 'cold' sink. It has a battery backup that will run the unit for 4 hours of cooling after power failure.

The only downside may be that it uses duct work, unlike the split air-conditioners. It needs to recirculation inside air.

Because it uses a 'cold' sink it cools 1000 sq ft @ ~40% humidity and 500 sq ft @ ~80 humidity.

He says he will work up a shipping cost to the DR and of course cheaper prices in quantity.

They provide a total solution

They have a 'kit' that has solar panels, inverter, batteries, cabling etc.

The AC unit can be setup to run only on solar, of course. Once the sun is gone you have whatever 'cold' sink you have left + power backup to drive compressor and your done.

The prices I saw ~$13K and more seemed a little high.

In my case, I have 2000 Watts solar and 450 amp/hour batteries at 48 volts. I should be able to make it through the night easily.
