Taking Spirit to SDQ in June

I am taking Spirit for the first time Providence-SDQ in mid June. The times for the flight are great (6:45am-1:20 pm), (return 2:40pm-9:40). The price was reasonable, $388. I am wondering if there is a down side? I have seen posts alluding to lost/misplaced bags but other than that I have not seen any comments, either good or bad. Can anyone tell me what to expect? I am pretty easy to please so it would take a lot to disappoint me. Thanks

Well if you check in early that usually reduces the possibility of your baggage getting lost. I flew with them once and I personally though that their service was pretty good.

My last trip, 2/21, TPA-SDQ, Spirit lost one of two bags for over three days. I got nothing but excuses every day. They even tried delivering the bag to "Hotel Platino" in Puerto Plata, despite Santiago being very clearly written on the "Lost Baggage" form.

I'll fly them again, but three days is excessive for any airline, IMO.
