I spent a couple hours today at the book fair in Plaza de la Cultura in Gazcue, SD. The fair is running through the 7th of May and is open from 10 am until 8 pm (I believe). There are scores of booths set up in the plaza with books from all different genres. There were also several booths from different countries. One booth in particular which I enjoyed exploring was one on Dominican history with lots of interesting information on the revolution and some terrific pictures decorating the walls of the booth.

It was extremely hot so I took a break to go into the Museo de Arte Moderno to cool off. This museum is not MOMA in nyc but was very interesting and I probably spent an hour inside. If you go to the book fair or visit the Plaza de la Cultura any other time, I definately recommend going in here.

There were also several stands selling jewlery and several food and refreshment stands.

There is no charge for admittance.
