What is the US dollar exchange rate in Santo Domingo's exchange houses?

Just got back on Friday. The exchange at the Cambio's was running 15.70 to 16.00 per $1.00 U.S. It was 16.00 in Sousa, and around 15.80 in Boca Chica. Then it varied where we went (Las Galaris, Don Julio). The average for two weeks was about 15.75. Hope this helps.

We live in Canada and will be spending a month in the D.R. in January would you by any chance remember what the exchange rate was for the canadian dollar. Just wondering what my best bet is. Thanks a lot.

It's about 10 pesos for 1$cdn. Last November I had 10.05 pesos

I just returned from Sosua. I had traveler's chegues. At the cambio hut on Pedro Clisante I got 10 pesos for a Canadian dollar. Around the corner it was 10.22. But best of all I found that by using the ATM machines for 1000 pesos it cost me 94.25 Canadian.
