I'll be in Cabarete for a few days in July.

Has anyone stayed at the Hotel El Magnifico? Is it walking distance to the beach and bars?

thanks!

We have taken a stroll through it. Would not hesitate to stay there. Buildings looked well kept up. Buildings back from the beach have nice LARGE balconeys. Close to all restaurants etc. in Cabarete.

I stayed there over the new year. Its quiet, well maintained, good staff. Just a short walk from bars and resturants. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

El Magnifico is our favorite place to stay in Cabarete (Nanny Estates is our second) The newer buildings are outstanding and have a lovely art deco flair. I don't really care for the women at the front desk but since you have limited contact with them after check in it is no big deal. You will love it there. The picture below is from the deck of the room we stayed in over Semana Santa of this year. Enjoy your visit and be sure to post a trip report when you get back home.
