Since the Sale of Verizon Dominicana to Telmex.

CDMA works for Verizon.

GSM works for Orange and Centenial.

Verizon (American Movile) will be changing to GSM within the next 6mo.

For clarification, is this fact or opinion?

3 points From Carlos Slim Jr. To be accomplished in the next 6mo.

1. New President and Finance officer DONE
2. New Name on the Advertising
3. Change to GSM from CMDA Do not know how this will be accomplished, via your contract? This would mean all bootleg phones
(compra ventas, sold to your neighbor, stolen) are up the creek! no paddle in sight.

What percentage of CDMA phones are on a "contract" with Verizon, 5% or less?

I strongly doubt TELMEX is going to shut down 50% of the phones so fast!

Please post a link to your sources.

No link

Work for Verizon International. Telmex uses GSM, is making it look like the rest of the company!

In that case, great business plan, shut down the entire system so it "matches"!

What percentage of VZ Dominicana customers are on a "Contract", these are the only customers that they can swap phones out.

TMX was a great short, as was VZ.

Any other trading ideas today?

While I understand the interest in uniformity, I cant believe they would toss all that technology...There is much better and I think way more CDMA infrastructure there than GSM at this point... then again it *is* the DR!

There was an item on cell phones in the DR1 news summary recently. Don't recall the figures, but only a very small percentage of the phones in the country are on contract. Rest are pay as you go. I noticed because I have a contract with Orange ane was surprised how few others have contracts with any of the companies.

What does the per minute cost work out for a contract plan? Also, what happens if you run over the alloted minutes?

Contract's (also meaning sales receipt)

If you bought your phone from a dealer, you have a contract!
Not necessary to have a PLAN, just the contract of when you bought the phone
This covers the majority of the phones. Now if the person threw their contract away after they bought the phone WELL.
the rest came from compra venta's, your neighbor, stolen.
