Santiago to Cabarete, Sosua or POP???

Sosua and the Eastern part of Puerto Plata (Playa Dorada) are best accessed via the Careterra Turistica. Western Puerto Plata (Cofresi, Costumbar, Riu Resorts) via The Autopista Duarte to the North coast highway. Caberete via highway 14 to Moca, highway 21 to Sabeneta and then a short leg of the North coast highway West to Cabarete. In each case, the trip should take 75 to 90 minutes from the STI airport.

From the airport, you can take a taxi all the way or a taxi to the Caribe Tours bus terminal and take a bus from there to Puerto Plata or Sosua.

If you go by bus, Puerto Plata is the closest. If you go by taxi, could be either Sosua or Puerto Plata depending on the route the driver takes.

Here are the details:
It is almost equidistant Santiago POP or Sosúa. Cabarete is a little further east.

If you are coming into the airport at Santiago:
1) Email Rocío Valerio at palomalinda0890@hotmail.com and have her husband meet you at the airport and take you directly to wherever you are going.
2) Take a taxi from the airport to Santiago (if you arrive during the day) and take a Caribe Tour bus to either POP or Sosúa. (If your final destination is Cabarete you'll have to take another taxi to Cabarete.
3) If you get in too late or too early (Jet Blue flight, for example) go back to #1 for safe, sure, timely transportation.
