Hi everyone,

I just came acros this forum, and have found some of the posts to be quite useful. I'm coming to the DR for 2 months this autumn, I have read the warnings about sankies...I don't plan on staying at an all-inclusive resort though, but a furnished condo/apartment. Not sure if it will be in Bavaro or Cortecito - is one better than the other? I'm 29, single, will be travelling alone, so I figure since this is the touristy area it will be safer. I would appreciate any advice or ideas on stuff to do while I'm there. I'm not looking for the love of my life, or any sanky-panky, just need a long vacation after losing my mother to cancer, and DR looks like the place to be. I have family who have visited PC and said it was quite beautiful there. I speak a little bit of spanish, enough to have a simple conversation.

Thanks! :bunny:

In terms of accomodation, I suggest Villas Princesa( Cortecito) where friends of mine stayed . We have stayed at La Posada de Piedra in Cortecito which is more of a B & B and although I loved it, I am not sure it is a good option for a 2 month long stay!
Good luck and enjoy!
