Divorce Question

Hi Everyone.....This is my first post, and I have looked for more information on here, but I couldn't find the answer.

Here's the situation:

I have a friend who lives here in the Dominican Republic, he is married to a Canadian woman, however he wants a divorce from her, but she will not consent to a divorce. This woman is psychotic, she really is.....She does not live here in the DR, she lives in Canada and has been there for the past 5 or 6 months....

I was just wondering if he can get a divorce from her without her consent and if so how he goes about it.

Even if someone can direct me to a website that has the information that I could read that would be great.

Oh yes, this poor guy needs help.
Maybe you can pay for his divorce?
(Which is possible as long as one spouse is in the DR.)

Somehow I get the feeling that you might be his next bride to be.

Can we keep the sarcastic comments out of this thread. I realize that we all like to be funny, but this is the legal forum and missy123 asked a straightforward legal question.
