I know most dominicans in this forum probably have had these growing up. greasy as well, but good as hell too. i tried seaching aunt claras web site for the recipes but cant find it or i cant spell it. any one knows the recipe and the preparation procedures for the dough?

My family ate "johnny cakes" or yaniqueques ;) in the southeast US. That's funny..my husband wanted the recipe a few years ago and I said, "johnny cakes"? And he said "no, it's a Dominican thing, yaniqueques".

I guess it's a bit like "Con fley"?

i dont know about johny cakes being bahamian, but i do know that Yaniqueque IS Dominican ^_^ or at least the name anyways lol
