On a recent flight from the DR to Colombia I was able to check out the Presidents Club in Panama. This is an excellent facility and if you get the chance, go visit and use it.

When you fly Santo Domingo to Cartagena with COPA you have almost a 4hr layover. So hanging out in the Presidents Club is the perfect way to kill time.

Below is some information sent to me by Ana at Continental here in Santo Domingo. If you have any questions, feel free to contact her or your local Continental rep.

Let me add, the COPA planes appeared to be almost brand new on the 4 flights I took with them flying back and forth to Colombia. On time, easy and no luggage hassles :)

Pto Plata VIP Clubs

Puerto Plata has two VIP lounges, one for arrivals the other for departures, available to walk-up visitors for USD$20 (subject to space), comfy, quiet, 4 free alcoholic drinks or cerveza or wine, small snack food selection, juices, cokes, etc., TV, free wireless for laptops. Also available via Tour Operator's packages for a fee. Nice service.
Sto. Domingo's several (3?) lounges are for members of the various airline clubs (AA Admiral's, etc) but no walk-up service at the one airport lounge of the airport operators, only invitees. Arroyo Barril same, invitees only. Punta Cana has a VIP area - invitees also. Don't know about La Romana. Santiago has one for invitees as well.....
So basically, unless invited or member of one of the existing airline clubs, POP is the only airport offering such service.

You will be granted free acces to the Presidents Club if you are an American Express PLATINUM member - regardless of travel class (as long as you hold a continental ticket and valid Plat Amex and you may even bring one guest).

Actually, you can bring two guests (or your spouse and kids under 21 years of age).
