whale watching

My family is heading Coconut Palms on Jan 7 for our first visit to DR. Would love to do a whale watching tour -- any suggestions? I'll have an infant and a 3 year old with me.

Also -- I can't find any information on Columbus Water Park?

Whale-watching ships start Jan 15. Your hotel is at least a three hour drive from Samana. It is a long and tiring trip for a three year old, unless you overnight in Samana. Columbus Water Park is between Playa Dorada and Sosua, I'd say about half an hour from your hotel. It's well worth a visit, but choose to go on a weekday to avoid crowds.
