Villa Leone near Cabarete

I was just checking out listings on Ebay and came across a one week stay at a place called Villa Leone located 1.5 miles east of Cabarete. This place looks very nice, on the beach, 3 bedrooms- it appears to be new. The present bid is $ 1.

My question is what is the catch? It appears too good to be true, does anybody know anything about this place.

There is no catch per se. The bidding is done with a reserve price. You'll probably find that the reserve is somewhere around $500-600 minimum for the week and the place must be used during the period mentioned in 2006 (subject to availability).

I own a place about 500 meters from here. It is very nice and recently renovated... the beach is as close to private as you'll find in the DR, but pretty rough... You'll definitely want to rent a car or arrange for a driver during your stay.
