Online publication with Total Help for Dominican immigrants

Santo Domingo.- A new online publication has come to the web titled ?Ayuda Total? (Total Help) (www.ayudatotal.com), which features news to orient Dominicans residing abroad.

"This virtual newspaper, said Juan Luis Fernandez, its Editor-in-Chief, comes to fill a void in daily publications, in the country as well as abroad," adding that Total Help specializes in immigration topics, health, education, public services, civic education, legal, labor and social rights; services of the city councils, spiritual assistance, historical data, non-government programs of agencies of the United States, Spain, Puerto Rico and of other countries where Dominican sreside.

"Essentially, we are focused toward a public of low income, who needs a helping hand from the governments and community institutions of the countries that have welcomed them," Fernandez said of the virtual publication.

For that reason, Total Help stresses ?all the services regarding immigration law, the state and municipal regulations of the United States, which are free services or provided at low cost.?

"The health of their children and adolescents is of great importance for immigrants, for that reason we list the clinics and hospitals that vaccinate children for free," such as the case of the New York City public hospitals. Another aspect focused is education, of the children as well as of the adolescents and adults. "This is very important for our people abroad,? he said,

Fernandez said that Total Help extensively covers the bilingual education programs, community schools and organizations that provide courses in English, such as New York?s Public Library.

Total Help also assists Dominicans in the country with the same type of information published to benefit those abroad, but with national institutions.

He said that news on consumer topics is another area which is taken into account. ?Elderly people and immigrants of all the ages are frequently victims of the sales of all types of products that are sold in the United States, through telephone offers, but also in Hispanic media,? he added.
