Anyone have any info on the extensive fire/burning that took place on Saturday afternoon up and behind the "Sand Castle"? 9/23/2006

If you are talking about the old Sand castle hotel in Puerto Chiquito, there are cane fields just West of it, and they may have been burning the cane.

I went to the Airport last evening (sitting in Toronto's Maple Leaf Lounge right now waiting for my flight to YHZ) and they were burning cane fields between Puerto Chiquito and the airport; as Rocky surmised.
