we are plagued with things breaking down (usually connected to electrics and water) plus car problems including accidents amounting to 2-3 incidents every week for the past year. We've been together for 6 yrs. Could someone in DR have put a bed spell on us - my husband has an ex girlfriend (her mother practices voodoo) and she has told him when they bumped into each other a year last May, that she wished they were back together again! Any tips?:paranoid:

"Bed" spells are the worst! Did you try giving him Viagara, Cialis, or whatever? .... To be serious, EVERYONE has problems with electricity and car problems are also very common & should not be attributed to voodoo spells. To be on the safe side, have your local Catholic Priest sprinkle the car with Holy water, (about $10.00US should do it...) Canadian Bob.

"They" say that if you don't believe in it, it won't affect you. I don't believe in any of that non-sense. I have family that does and they have tried to convince me but I don't fall for that BS. To each his own. Whenever I go through something I look back and say - $HIT happens!!!

Vaudou is a threat to people who believe in it...

It's funny that I saw this thread on voodoo today because I saw a voodoo movie last night while in bed. It's the skeleton key with kate hudson. Really cool movie. lol

I agree with you, it can't hurt you if you don't believe in it and even if you do believe in it.

I think it just bad luck when certain things happens that don't normally. So you just go with the flow and forge ahead.

Nice to know we have some non-believers here at DR1 - Our little group is growing.

Did you guys watch the film The Serpent and the Rainbow? Parts of it were filmed in the DR. Fun stuff.

try periodic maintenance on the car..that usually scares away evil car spirits. Also an gas powered generator has been known to offset bad electrical service interuptions caused by voodoo spells.

stay away from 34th and Vine... there is a rouge cop there that will mess up any remedial potions you may have aquired.

outside of that I would suggest a voodoo counter attack......but hire a qualified voodoo witch, not any hatian look alike.

This is normal life here, I used to ask the same questions until I learnt.
But please all you non-believers should not scoff. This is a very dangerous area to mess in. Dont contact any "experts". Leave things be.

If vodoo is real, why the Hatians do not use it to fix up the country. Just wondering

It is precisely because Vaudou is real for the Haitians that they can't fix there own nation...

It is advisable to have the following items at the ready before consultations with a brujo:

1. Agua bendita de tres iglesias
2. Un coco seco
3. Un habanero grueso
4. Una botella de Brugal A?ejo
5. Polvo de donde se unen dos caminos (this dust has to be collected exactly at midnight, and leave some pennies behind, and DO NOT look back under ANY circumstances)
6. Fotos de la otra mujer
7. Papeletas de las verdes, especialmente las del tiguere Benjam?n (some brujos may also take Euros, but I doubt they'll have ATMs)

And lastly, are you comfortable being naked in front of strangers?

No, Bob, it is not a trick question.

What do you think the water from the three churches is for?

As part of the cleansing process, the brujo will give the person a bath...in the nude.

And if the afflicted person is a woman, sex with the brujo may be required in order to rid her of any spells. But don't blame it on the brujo, it's los seres that need it. The brujo is just a caballo, a conduit for los seres. Repeat consultations may be needed.

Just for show? Are you crazy?

Goats, chickens, and jet-black cats are for different needs.

For example, if planning a trip to Puerto Rico using yolanda travel agency, you need shark repellant - certain bones from black cats will make you invisible to the sharks.

Goats help you travel through SDQ if you are bringing substances on the DEA no-can-do list to the US or Europa. This is kind of complicated, and it involves the blood and head of the black goat, and an out-of-the-way burial place.

Chickens may help you with un Fracat?n or Quiniel?n, but not with the lotto.
