Hey all,

I have an idea of what is required for someone to get a visa but are there lesser restrictions for a Pastor in the RD?

I have an invitation letter from the church I attend and we would like the pastor from the RD to visit Canada.

Does the RD recognize this type of invitation?

He has a family, no business of his own the last two years, not a lot of money, and no home. All bad strikes but he would travel here and his family will be in the RD.

This is an interesting one which has never come up on DR1.

In case you don't have contact info here it is CIC Canada | Application For a Temporary Resident Visa to Visit Canada

If he's been a paster for many years he might have a good chance if your church takes on the responsibility of proving him with all necessities during the visit.

Let us know how he makes out.

BTW you asked if the RD would recognize this type of invitation? It's Canada that decides who gets a visa not the Dominican Republic.

Thx Anna. As always you are a great help. Gimme a smiley some time ha.

Yes I will keep you informed. I am going to bring the 'invitation' from Canada and go to la capital with him.

He's been a pastor for about 4 years now (but he is Haitian with a RD residency).
