I am finally getting my residency card after almost a year of waiting! I am renting now, but I am considering purchasing either condo, apartment, house, or land to build in/or near Santo Domingo. I notice alot of people saying be careful if you attempt to purchse. I'd like to know in the long run is it better to own (like in the states) or continue to rent, considering the interruption of eletricity, gaurds for you property when you are away ( I travel frequently to the states), and security in general? Thanks
