disco latino/velvet glove/tropicana update

Was there last wkd.
Latinos is free to get into (no cover) and many young locals go there. Music is cool, the crowd is decidedly young and hip-hop-oriented. We left as walking through it was very difficult. Too many people.
Classicos offers a more upscale experience, all-around including talent. Funny to watch the more than obvious sankie-pankie experience right in front of you. Was pretty common last wkd. Smartly, on NYE, they charged a 200 peso cover. Just weeded out the leeches, as there wasn't many people there. Where did that crowd go? Latinos. LOL!!! It was actually pretty cool to just hang out and have a drink or two.
The grand opening for High Caribe is Fri. Jan. 5th.
Velvet Glove is a nicely-decored place, with apparently no desire to stay open very long. Place was pretty empty each time we went. A few cute chicks, but nothing to make you stay more than say... a beer. Had no personality at all.
Just my opinion.

i haven't been since november so i was wondering is the eye candy had improved with these new clubs. i also heard Taino Beach Bar has reopened also....
Eye candy???? Might as well remove your eyes...or stab yourself in them with a rusty shank. LOL!!!
Each night was a debacle, in both places. I completely understood the reviews that had previously been written. Except, it was worse than that. I was more than pretty content just going home solo, the options were brutal.
Not sure where Taino Beach Bar is located.

I 've never been to any of the above places except the Taino Bar. We were there last July and it had just reopened a few months or weeks (can't remember) earlier. Have they closed and reopened again? It's a nice place , I just find that it is kind of secluded. If you aren't staying at Casa Marina or Sosua by the Sea, I wouldn't imagine that too many people go there.

Still closed as of 3 weeks ago also.
What aboout the Taino Bar? When I was there in May there was a for sale sign up in front. Are they still in business?

the burger joint (good fries and a nice place to get a late night snack) and a bar is located over there now. don't remember the names.
