I'll be in Sosua from January 29th (next monday !!) and I need to rent a car ( a 4 wheels-drive would be perfect ) for at least 2 weeks.

Where can I find the best price (and quality too)

POP airport.
10 or so rental agencies, so more selcection and competition.

I my mind the airport was the most expensive place to rent?
I thought that in town it's gonna be cheaper.

POP Airport Is Best Bet

I have looked and rented @ the POP airport and booked online prior to leaving. You are looking at $30.00 US per day for a small 2006 Chevy Comfort auto with air and 5 seatbelts. You might get the most basic with 4 seatbelts for $27.00 per day. If you find any better prices, please post them, but I really don't think you will.

Contact Alamo in the States. They have an office at POP, and have good rates here. My friend rented a car from them off the internet and paid $24 US a day at POP.

Go with the sure deal and rent at the POP airport.
I've been asking around, and most agree, that the airport has the better deals.

I found Alamo to the best priced at the airport, but you first must go online to reserve it. Also very important get the "tire & glass coverage" it's just $3.00 more a day. I didn't know the first time and had to buy a tire.

Don't go with some of the no-name type rental agencies, they have been known for all kinds of shenanigans.

Worked out to approx. $34 US/day.

Maybe a good price sorted out by the sister in law from POP ?not a gringo price :bunny: as they say dominican time dominican price

Does anyone know if a *new* full size SUV is available for a one week rental by any of the POP or area companies? I have a client coming to town that needs something NICE... Ive rented from several of the POP agencies, and Ive never seen anything that could be considered "new, clean, and nice"! He also needs a true full size, not a crv/tracker/suzuki type jeepeta...
