Phoning Canada from the DR

I am leaving for the DR in one week and would like to know if anyone has been able to purchase prepaid phone cards in the DR to phone back to Canada and if so where might a person obtain these cards??

You are best using the Codetel. Or the local call centres (they are everywhere) just pop in and make a call.

We use Canada Direct from Dominican Republic
Telephone Number: 1-800-333-0111
you get an operator in Canada then have them transfer you to the number you want collect....quite inexpensive

We usually go to the internet cafe across from Casa Marina, they seem reasonable enough

My husband calls me from the DR with Verizon calling cards, quite cheap and easy to find.
