DR in November? (newbie here ;) )

Sorry if this is the wrong section to post.

My question is this: I am planning a month long first trip to DR in November and am wondering if this would be a decent time to come in terms of weather,mosquitos, number of tourists. It seems to be a shoulder season, which is what I am after and just wanting to confirm this.

Hot. Sometimes cooloing off a bit in the night but didn't start doing that till December this year. Bit humid still. Still rainy season and still chance of Hurricane. Average number of mosquitos - only month with few is feb/march. still some tourists, those who want winter sun but want to be home for xmas. its a nice time of year - feb/march is better for the weather and lack of rain, but november is better than july - october - if that makes sense.
