Asking on behalf a member.

When a Canadian woman from Quebec marries a Dominican man in the DR are the steps listed in the legal forum valid for the province of Quebec or are there further steps for the marriage to be recognized in Quebec?

I would like to hear from anyone living in Quebec who has gone through this. You can send me a PM if you do not wish to post it here.

Thank you ;)

Might have changed in the past 5 years but when my mother went to live in Quebec with her Dominican husband who she married down here, she didn't have to do anything. Only show her DR marriage certificate when it was necessary and she thinks they had it translated to French when they requested his residency before going up.

a lot less to do then the rest of canada

The Mariage is recognize and has to be translated for sponsoring. Plus, in Quebec, there's not as many papers to fill out.. Don't get me wrong, it is still a hastle. But hey! if there's a few papers less, it's all good.
