Not sure where you are travelling from but if you are looking to stay at an AI, I may suggest saving your FF miles for another vacation. Maybe you can get a good deal. I have done seperate "land only" when using FF miles in the past and it often works out to more than what you could get by buying a packaged vacation.
Also, I would not agree with the recommendations with any of the hotels in Boca Chica or Juan Dolio. Previously I may have suggested either of the Corals but right now with their future hanging in the balance and their ownership undetermined, I may not risk it.
