Someone has told me that when LEAVING the Dominican Republic, you are NOT allowed your 1qt zip-lock bag, no liquids, gels etc of ANY kind? :surprised

Is that true? What is one supposed to do if you have a long layover at another airport and want to "refresh" yourself. Are we expected to buy new (and expensive) toiletries (that WILL fit in a 1 qt zip-lock bag) and make a new zip-lock bag, or do we just have bad breath and and possibly a "pugent" aroma after a long flight?

Thanks for your help.

In April it was flexible/variable. Some of us got away with stuff; others didn't. I think it may have depended on the apparent value of the whateveritwas. My bottle of water passed through without comment; I think if it had been rum it would have been confiscated.
