If the entry fees do not cover the RD 1,000,000, the casino will pay the difference. 40% of the purse is allocated to 1st place, 20% to 2nd place, and the remaining 40% to 3rd - 10th place.

I wish I knew of this earlier

I cannot make it this year, but if this is going to be annual then bet on it, ( lol no pun intended), I will be there next. I wish this had been up earlier as I would have ensured I was there. I use to "have a job" like other people but this is how I make my living now. Best of luck to all who are going and I really hope this is a success as I LOVE to play and look forward to next year. ;)

We have mini-tournaments twice per week, Tuesdays and Saturdays, at 6pm, that last anywhere from 90 mins to 3hrs. We usually get between 8 and 20 players with a RD 3,000 buy-in.

I wish I would have known about this sooner.:pirate: This would be something I would love to have played in. For those people living in the Capital I play most of my poker in the Dominican Fiesta Casino, I find it to be the game run the closest to Hold'em in the States.;) The othe places in the Capital are very disorganized and unsupervized.....truly like the wild west.

The purse is guaranteed?? What I can read is that 95% of entry goes back to the players... Anybody that can confirm that the purse is guarenteed?

See Conchman's post above.

Hence, the Casino is guaranteeing a RD$1 million purse, regardless of how many players sign up.

In the last couple of days, I have seen several yatchs, including MEGA, going toward Ocean World. 5 today. A little early for the game. Does anyone know if these yatchs are berthing at O.W.?

There are currently 38 yachts registered at Ocean World Marina, including several mega-yachts. I doubt it has anything to do with the poker tournament though.

All players have to be at the casino floor at 11 am on Saturday (April 28th) for registration, check-in, and table/seat assignments.

Play for the first group starts at 2 pm Saturday. There will be two groups (since we only have 5 tables) and play for the 2nd group depends on the number of entries. There will be a lot of last minute registrations (imagine that!) so I recommend to come early.

ALL PLAYERS WILL NEED TO BE PRESENT FOR CHECK-IN AT 11 AM on April 28th.

The way it's looking, we will have a full count of 100 players so I suggest anybody who has not signed up and paid his entry fee, to do so as soon as possible. While we don't have that many early registrations, I have indications (groups of players coming from Santiago, Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, and Miami) that we will max out the tournament with 100 players.

Thanks for the info.
Do you know how long it would go on for?

Play is scheduled for Saturday 2 pm to 8 pm, Sunday 10 am to 4pm, and Sunday 8 pm until a winner is determined.

Due to the nature of tournament play, these times are subject to significant changes depending on the number of players and the progression of play.

Are you entering?

The thought crossed my mind, but I'm good coming out of the gate, but I suck in the long run.
Those hours would bury me.

I will leave Sto Domingo saturday. So arriving at noon 12 is not good enough (I will buy my seat tomorrow, friday)?
