Upcoming Dominican Labor Day Weekend?

Does this particular upcoming weekend bring alot of Dominican locals to the beaches of Sosua & Cabarete for the Labor Day Holiday Weekend? I will be there on Friday and was wondering... If any body has any insight please let me know, It would be an added bonus If it's a bit lively but I don't want it be be Easter weekend crowds(which I seriously doubt since that weekend was a few weeks ago). Thanks Guys.

sorry i cannot answer your question, but i am here now and also curious if businesses and banks close for the holiday weekend as well? thank you.

I do believe that banks and gov't offices are closed on Monday for the holiday. I believe many stores are open until noon or 1pm.

Many locals will take a long weekend but it is not like Easter.

I do have a question too:

Anyone know if the bars will be allowed to stay open later on Sunday night for the holiday?

Banks and government offices will be closed. Some stores will be open and some will not. Long weekends bring and increase in Dominicans to the beach, but as has already been said, not in the droves like during Semana Santa.
