In all developed mations that I am aware, food that you are going to eat is not taxable, unless you get served in a retaurant. Medicine is excenpt from all taxes. Apliances and cars,toilet paper tissues and soap shampoo and rinses have lower. Licor and tabasco are hightly taxed. We are dominated by these industires, that are the vices of most Dominican , and poor people go hungry due to high taxes on things that are really neccessary to live.
