A week in Puerto Plata startign 7/20

Hi, a friend and I(2 guys) will be heading to Puerto Plata for a week. Would like to know where a good place to stay for us would be where it wouldn't be a problem having guests come in. Lat time I was there they would not let guests in. This was about 6 years agos and I don't remembere where exactly I stayed. We'd like to stay on the beach, nothing too fancy, but comfortable....

Also where the good nightlife spots are.

A good option is Blackbeards in Costambar, which is just west of Puerta Plata proper. You can look them up on goolge. Therer is a decent beach, restaurants, bars etc inside the neighborhood, and bars, pool and a guest welcome atmosphere at the hotel.

If you want to meet "guests" and have them come back to your room, you'll be much better off in Sosua... that's where the majority of the "guests" are....and a 3-4 block stretch of bars and restaurants to find them...
