2008 Election

I am doing a research paper on the similarities and differences of the 2008 presidential elections going on in the Dominican Republic and United States. Seeing as I live in the U.S., I am having trouble finding information on the major topics and issues concerning the election of the Dominican Republic. Can anyone give me some information on the major issues that are being debated and confronted during this D.R. election?
