Hey everyone. I am flying continental home to POP. (It feels nice to say "home" and I really do wish I was there right now.) Anyway missed the connection yesterday due to weather. Today stood standby and did not make the flight, me and about fifty other people wanting to leave. I have confirmed seats for tomorrow. But man, this airport is a drag. 7.95 to log in to use wifi EVERY TIME. I am glad I figured this out after 2 times and now I am just going to sit by this plug in this bar all day to get my money's worth.

So, Newark is not a bad airport in terms of other stuff, the Continental departures has a lot of stores and food...I got some vouchers...I just cannot deal with going back out and coming back in, it is too much schlepping aorund of my stuff, too expensive, too much. PLan on staying here all day and all night until tomorrow.

Crazy....I am asking myself "what did you get yourself into?" My only solace is that I am not putting myself through this for a sanky but for my job.....

MaineGirl, Continetal has a very nice "vip" club on the second floor. 1st class international or "gold" status gets you in free. You may be able to pay a fee for entry.

Free snacks and drinks. Showers. Wifi, TV. Large chairs and sofas to sleep. Information desk... etc.

Worth a try to get in if you're stuck there for another day.

Good luck, Ringo

Shame you can't get Talldrink to come over and offer solace or jrzyguy or one of the other folks that post here from Joisey....
Of course Newark is in the throes of that murder investigation, with an arrest warrant out on one guy. Nice town....
What did you do about the white boards? Find any solution?
HB with smooches...

I live 15 minutes from Newark airport so if you want to get out of the airport in the evening or need some food/drink from the outside world let me know.

On a sidenote I may make a last minute trip to either Maine or Vermont in a few weeks before my twin brother starts his first semester of grad school.

Actually two thirds of EWR is in Newark. Only terminal A is in Elizabeth.

Probably too late but you can easily take a train from EWR to visit NYC.

At one point in time Newark had over a dozen breweries. The reason being was the quality of Newark water.

Budweiser, Pabst, Krueger, (I can't remember the rest).

You guys are good. I spent the afternoon writing my autobiograpy (hahahaha) because I was so bored.

Thanks for the tip on the VIP lounge. After this next flight leaves I am going over to the service desk to do some begging.

Weather is questionable for tomorrw. If things get screwed up I am calling Talldrink.

*Dominicans are some of the nicest people*. I have encountered a few on this journey and once they know my deal they simply love me and that is one of the reasons I like my new home so much.

Maine no more. Today decided I would go back in five years and not a second sooner. The thing with Maine is that in five years it will change very, very little. Perhaps I am just ready to land somewhere for a good while!

Viva Cabrera! In my autobio I call it the cow town!

Damm, I just saw this now... I drove past EWR twice today.

I hope that you make it out tomorrow, but the weather doesn't look too promising in the AM. Good luck! :)

It is true that Newark had several Breweries

In the old days pilots use to find the airport by the smell of the breweries..now they use instruments..
