where to stay in Santiago

I am looking for information on where to stay in the Santiago area for an extended stay (about a month) around November-December time frame. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. And if this is not the right place to post this please let me know...

There are two inexpensive locations:
Alberto's Suites and Aparta Hotel
Hotel Colonial

Any taxi driver knows where they are.

I hear they have a new wing at colonial. that side might not have roaches but i still
would stay at the colonial Lazaro and victor and its staff treat people great

There are 5 hotels in the same area/price as Hotel Colonial. Would I stay in these hotels, if I was on vacation? NO. I stay at these hotels when I am partying in Santiago, I check-in at 2am and check out at 8 am. I would not stay any longer than that.

How is La Rotonda? has anyone stayed there? Don't really like El Colonial matchbox size rooms

You would not like La Rotunda. It is across the street from the Transporte Espinal bus depot at the entrance to Ensanche Libertad. It is on "the other side of town".
