How to get to higuey from Santiago ?

Caribe Tours or Metro to Santo Domingo. Take a taxi from there to Parque Enriquillo (Paarada de Higuey) - Ravelo w/ Jose Marti.

Take a bus from PE to Higuey. Buses run every 15 minutes, but usually leave when they fill up. You usually don't wait more than 15 minutes for any bus to leave.

Expresos are 180 pesos, regular 160 pesos. Expresos show movies and take about 5 minutes less of travel time. Sometimes even 10 or 15 minutes less, as expreso drivers are bit more aggressive. Most of regular buses have A/C.
Expresos leave every 30 minutes.

The first bus is at 6 am, the last one at 7.30 pm, but leaves anytime after 7pm whenever it fills up.

Travel time: 2 hr 15 mins to 2hr 30 mins.

Are there buses to/from Higuey to the north coast? The websites are not user friendly..

No, you have to connect in SD to a Caribe or Metro.
