Arrival in SDQ

Hello all! I am coming into Santo Domingo on thursday of next week, the 6th. I was wondering, when I get to the airport, what should I do in terms of transportation and whatnot? For instance, I want to stay in SD a night maybe 2. I was looking into staying at Adia or La Grade Mansion. How do I get there from the airport and how much will it cost for the taxi? What do you guys think of those hotels?

Depends on when you get there. Usually taxis charge about 1000 pesos from the airport, after 8pm it's about 200 pesos more. If you speak spanish well you can negotiate down maybe 200 pesos.

Just look for a taxi that belongs to the Airport, and don't no more than $30.000 USD to the Capital.

What about the hotels. I am looking for a nice hotel in Santo Domingo also for next week.

Lots of good hotels that are cheap and many that are pricy. What are you looking for as it pertains to accomodations? -

If you want fairly cheap ($35 usd daily) with a nice place and guest friendly.... Try to the Maison Gautreaux. Hotel Maison Gautreaux... En Santo Domingo, Algo Distinto.

Really nice! - Rate for taxi from SDQ is $30
