I posted before but i guess no one took a stab at my question. I'm currently a American with a Dominican mother. I am going to DR for 10 days in January and im looking to acquire Dominican nationality. I read the process and it says that to apply for the cedula after you get your Dominican birth certificate you need your mother's birth certificate and cedula for it. My mother came in late 70'z with her documents and her cedula is from 1979 and her last Dominican passport is from 1983. The birth certificate is a extracto de acta from the oficialia del estado civil from june 1985. Will this be sufficient to apply for the cedula ? I want to start the process soon with my birth certificate and i hope someone who has done this before can guide me through it.

We checked with Immigration. Your mother will have to get a new c?dula since her old one is no longer valid. You will also need a more recent birth certificate.
