Sanitation question

From what I have read on these forums, it appears, that the worst damage was on the south/SW side. I have read a lot about Punta Cana, where we will be flying into next week, but not LaRomana.
Even if there isn't much destruction there, which is according to the resort.... I need to take with a grain of salt, as I'm sure they will not be turning away $$

But my question is about the sanitation due the flooding. I realize it is known to drink bottled water, but what about water with food preparation.

Any insight for me?

(We have never been to DR, & I did not choose the location/hotel, as we are going for my friends wedding. My husband is not thrilled, or looking forward to it, to say the least. :ermm:)

Use normal measures.......

Wash hands frequently (or bring along some hand sanitizer).

Don't eat anything you wouldn't eat on a hot sunny day at home at an outside picnic.....otherwise follow normal safe food guidelines i.e. peel any raw fruit like apples before eating.

Don't sweat it......the resorts don't want to poison you- they want you to come back again and again!!!

Come down, enjoy the wedding and have a great vacation!:glasses:
