A very good friend childhood friend of my wife is here illegally. Her fiancee (American Citizen who is from the DR and has known her for years) got wet feet and at the last minute decided he did not want to marry her. Now its been close to a year over her visa. She cries almost every night because she had to leave her daughter in the DR while she is here working. Obviously if she returns to the DR she will never be allowed back into the US. It really breaks my heart because she is truly a nice person. It even has crossed my mind to legally adopt her child over there just to bring her here. I know that adoption is a long process, but is this even possible given these circumstances? Thank you.
