Looking for sea shells

We'll be visiting Punta Cana area. I love to beachcomb for seashells, any suggestions on where to find them would be helpful.

Are you kidding? If I was to look for seashells, I would not look in the forest. I would look on the BEACH. DUH !!

It's more when, than where.
You have to get up really early in the morning and hit the beaches just as the sun is rising.
Any good sized pretty sea shells would be scooped up by the locals in a flash, if you don't get there first.
