I am from NYC and have been to Santiago several times because my friend's fiance lives. While I am not hanging out with him, her, and her family I am often out on my own. If any DR1'ers are interested in meeting up for a beer one day the first Presidente is on me. I am usually in the downtown area by Calle Del Sol as this is where I stay when I am in Santiago.
