what is going on!! does this text seemingly say that the Aguilas might not make the playoffs?? what a shame to not even have a chance to be the hometown-hometwon team for the caribe series!!

dont four teams make the playoffs????? and does anyone know how many games are scheduled left??

Baseball updates
Needing a victory to stay in the playoff chase, Licey took advantage of the opportunity and beat their long-time rivals the Aguilas 12-2. Ronnie Belliard hit a homerun while Timo Perez and Jose Bautista drove in two runs each. In other baseball action, Escogido beat up on the Azucareros 3-1 behind a strong showing from pitcher Victor Santos. Santos pitched five strong innings for Escogido. And finally, the Gigantes beat the Estrellas 6-3 and with the win qualified for the post-season.

well I also have heard that 4 teams get in...so that would make that ellimination statement false so far.

Aquilas is in third place. The first four get in. They will be there for sure.

Man, I'm really worried this year. They are just not playing Aguilas' style baseball. Let's see if Lima and others can pull it off in the end. They will be in for the semi-finals for sure, but Licey has been kicking their axx all year. Let's hope this changes...

i think the absence of some of their MLB stars is the reason they been getting beat like Tina Turner (r.i.p Ike Turner) :laugh:

plus licey has to get by the gigantes.....

That time of the year

Some of you seem pretty involved now towards the end of the season.

I'd really like to see line scores/box scores if possible.

Is it possible for any of you to cut/paste/format them into this discussion? -- with story lines would be even better.

I think a report in English of the DWL would be welcomed more than anyone realizes - I mean that as a business opportunity, not just FYI.

The way it works is that 4 teams make the round robin and play a set number of games against all of the teams. The two with the best record make the Finals. If you are first or fourth going in it is the same.

Miguel Tejada said he would not play this year. But he said the same thing last year and played anyway. You never know over here who will show up.

no, of course not...but one has to wonder what has made the Gigantes so special this season :ermm: and Aguilas so impotent :paranoid:

Dang, my Aguilas continue to get their Axx kicked by everyone...even Las Estrellas. I'm now doubting they will make it even to the playoffs.

Aguilas won last night 8-4 over Escogido. Furcal went 3-4 (I think--I fell asleep in the 8th)
they are currently tied with t he Estrellas in 3rd....oh my....

Lima was not effective last night, after pitching a gem in his last outing.
There are rumors of discord in the locker room..
